Presentations with impact

Your sparring partner and idea toolbox for effective presentations

Do you want to hold presentations that are remembered for years to come? For the right reasons. Presentations which motivate audiences? Which trigger change? Which require fewer time inputs yet deliver better results? Leverage your presentations to the next level.

Make your presentation unforgettable

The good news: the benchmark is amazingly low. Why? Because presentations are generally used for the wrong purpose. They are not meetings and also not educational events. If you want to transfer information, don’t bother holding a presentation. That’s exactly what they are not suited for.  So, what are they good for?

Whether it’s a pitch to potential investors in German or a keynote to a large audience in English: Presentations can be an effective means of conveying ideas, motivating people and initiating change. But only if you go about it in the right way.

Experts are often called upon to make presentations. They have the in-depth specialist knowledge about the issue and can answer any conceivable question.

The keys to a perfect pitch are training, training and training. Ian prepared us ideally for our TV appearances in front of investors. His long business track record enabled him to ask the challenging questions. This reduces the surprises when it really matters.

DON’T FALL INTO THE TRAP

But, after 20 years in this field, I am convinced that this knowledge alone is not a good precondition for an effective presentation. Why not? Because the goal is often not clear and is therefore completely missed. The real aim of the presentation is mostly not to make the audience experts or to establish your expertise.

Good presentations are like concerts: unique, unforgettable and moving experiences. But also often inconvenient, time-consuming and impractical for all concerned. You don’t remember the details of a concert (e.g. the order of the songs), but you never forget the sensation of being there. The experience.  And it is exactly here that the potential of presentations lies.

With my support, as your sparring partner for important presentations, we can define the goal of your presentation, your key message(s), identify how you can awake the interest of your audience, nail the structure, your intro and outro, so that your presentation is remembered long after it’s over – and for the right reasons.

YOU ARE YOUR PRESENTATION

As the presenter, you are your presentation, not PowerPoint! Your slides should serve only as the background scenery; the audience’s attention needs to be firmly fixed on you and your messages.

How? It’s surprisingly simple. It generally only takes an hour or two to develop a sound concept based on which you can knock up the right background scenery (PowerPoint, Keynote, Prezi, flip charts, etc.) in minutes rather than hours.

I can also act as your audience during a dry run, ask questions from the audience and give you insightful feedback (with video backup on request).

If it’s really important, don’t leave it to chance. Get an experienced second opinion. I promise that you’ll notice the difference. And so will your audience.
